IPL for Women Cricketers

BCCI is reportedly considering a league similar to IPL for women’s cricket. Women cricketers have done India proud on numerous occasions. They have scored tons of run both at home and away, they have won many championships. But for all that nobody watches women’s cricket and nobody support India women’s cricket. Only in recent years has sponsorships and advertisements have come their way. Mandira Bedi of Shanti fame has taken up the cause of Women’s cricket in a big way. In some part due to her efforts and the women’s cricket authorities sponsorships came to Indian women’s cricket team. In a final recognition of the strides that women’s cricket made on world stage the BCCI took over the administration of Women’s cricket and made it part of bigger scheme things in India and abroad. Now, they are thinking about a Indian Premier League for women which should be good for women cricket overall.
